What is the first thing that comes into your head when you are asked How to coach soccer or youth soccer? There are many things that’ll start coming to your mind that it’ll confuse you even when the question is pretty simple.

One of the soccer skills that’s required for a player and a coach to learn is communication. A coach needs good communication skill for giving instructions, sharing feedback, evaluating players, counseling them, and maintaining discipline.

Players, on the other hand, talk about issues with coaches, peers, parents, share feelings (good or bad) with colleagues, and give tips and tricks to new players in the team. The game of soccer acts as a common language for both players and coaches convey their feeling and thoughts.

1.Always call your players using their names. This is not only sound good but is also courteous.

5.When speaking to the players, make an eye contact with them for effective communication. Face the person you are talking to and look him in the eye.

6. The way you speak should make a mark upon the other person. So pick a style that suits your person as well as the person you are talking to.

7. Select a subject that requires redressal. Communication answers many questions, how to coach soccer works only when it is straightforward and short. Choose a list of items and stick to it.

8.Be objective: Keep in mind that you are a soccer coach who is speaking to a team or a player. So remain in charge of your emotions and talk only about the points of the game.

9.Speak Clearly: Speak in a manner that your message flows across to the other person with the exact meaning.

10.When teaching soccer, repeat the important points. Find ways to emphasize on various points time and again so that the players always remember them.

11.Introduce light and funny words in the conversations so as to keep the talk light and stress free.

12.Give your players flexibility so that they can seek clarifications from you without any hitch. Allow them to ask questions.

A soccer coach without the capability to speak and distribute the information required for high performance isn’t successful in the long run.
