TF2 Classes Detailed – An Introduction
Varying skins, skills, health and movement ability, there are currently 9 classes for Team Fortress 2. Like CSS servers, Team Fortress 2 has a big community of mod and map makers out there working hard to make the game better for everyone. So Team Fortress 2 game servers have been out for 2 years and is still as popular as it was when it came out
Team Fortress 2 servers have 9 players are split into 3 sub classes based on support, defensive and offensive. You don’t have to play them as those roles but they have been developed so that their weapons and skills are best used in those positions.
Without an effective defence, you will lose on Team Fortress 2 servers. Having a good back line is needed to stop the scout from sneaking through your defence.
You have to be skilled at this class to know to play it without a proper gun or using the bottle to melee. Using the games engine and physics to his advantage, he can take out enemies very effectively. A weapon that can take out small health pools such as the scout, medic and spy is the grenade launcher- normally with just two hits! For sentry guns hidden round corners, the grenade launcher can be very effective. Laying sticky grenades as traps near intelligence or control points is a very good tactic. Just lay a few where they wont be easily seen and watch the kills roll in. If you suck at aiming and like big bangs, try this class!
Next up is the Heavy. You guessed right this guy is the one that likes to pack a punch. His high health and most powerful gun makes up for the fact he’s the slowest of all the classes. He’ll take down the other classes very quickly. The only enemy he struggles against is his opposite number. With a long range, he can battle several enemies at once. However his minigun does take a while to rev up. Don’t expect to move far once you have got it going as you will be slower than your gran with a Zimmer frame!! Covering while they take out the enemy, heavies work best when they are protected at short range. If you like to make people shut up on clan servers, choose this guy!
The engineer would normally only fire when being attacked directly. His role is to deploy and maintain buildings that are helpful to his team. They are best known for their sentry guns which are automated turrets which can be upgraded by whacking them with the wrench. You’ll find the engineer searching the map for metal in order to do this. Dispensers placed round the map are also used to re-supply players. Teleports are an excellent way of moving players from one part of the map to another. A good place is a quiet spot near the enemy base. When it comes to getting their hands dirty they are not down and out with their slightly generic weapons. However they can be effective at medium range with their turrets and tend to sit in cover. . If building and turrets floats your boat, then choose the engineer class.
